Math Exams

The one thing that i hate most in life is the math Exam. I just did mine today and i feel pretty good abou it. But how long have people been doing math Exams. How long have their been higher educational facilities giving out math exams. I learned that the first university was actually established back in the 9th century under the ruling f Constantine. So people have been doing math exams for a really long time. COnstantine must have been on something to want to give people math exams.

Slap Chop

I recently saw on television the new and handy tool the slap chop. I thought to myself wow now i can cut up all the things that i need to cut up. But really why would you want that when you can just get a knife out and do it yourself? i mean a little crappy plastice peripheral isnt going to help much. Besides it might last up to a few uses i just cant see something stupid like that lasting for very long. However on further research i found out something very interesting about the guy who was presenting the product. Vince Shlomi also known as the Shamwow guy actually beat up a hooker. Went to jail for a little bit. Thats a great host.

Marvel vs DC

Since the begining of time Marvel and DC have been fighting over the comic book reign. Although in most cases marvel has been on top DC has come out with just as many iconic characters as marvel. But how do these characters really impact our daily lives? Superman, Batman, Spiderman, The Xmen. Plenty of iconic characters that are known by people worldwide. Each character impacts our society and what we do. The newest batman movie The Dark Knight made billions of dollars at the box office. With the simple induction of a character it can change the way people do things. People live, eat, breathe, and sleep comic books and the characters the Stan Lee has given us.

Madden

Every year EA released a new Madden game for the current console at hand. But every year it seems like the same improvements are made over the previous years model. However how far has the game really come. Since the early 90's when the game was first released it has released a single game a year every year since it first hit the market. With new improvements such as graphics and different games modes. Even adding online play for the people who would like it. This game is one of the pivotal franchises in the gaming industry and EA has strived to maked their game better and better each year.

Grindhouse

Back in the year 2007 a movie spectical was released in theaters. The movie Grindhouse, which was a double effort by the great Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriquez. These two teamed up to bring B movies back to the big screen and give them a homage. These two movies were the perfect over the top violence, blood, sex, and action to keep any B movie fan on the edge of their seat. But, what they do here is not only make a great B movie, but a great film as a whole. They go out of their way to add cliches and other common things but its so bad that the movie is actually good. With a run time of almost 3 hours for both films it takes up quite a bit of time. But its worth every minute.

It only does everything

The playstation 3 is Sony's third attempt at a console. Now with more feartures than ever and a new slogan that makes it sound awesome. It's true the ps3 does a lot of things. play blu ray dvd's play games, downloadable content, get netflix, facebook. Its like a little home entertainment center with everything you want on it. With sonys first playstation in the early 90's they paved their way forward to have one of the most successful game consoles of the decade. In 2002 the PS2 was released and outsold the market 2 to 1. Playstation was a hit and with their third installment they wanted to really knock down the competition. With all you can want in need in a console i just might never wanna leave my house again.

Blu Ray

The next level of DVD has arrived. Blu Ray. Shortly after dominating the market and making Hd DVD look like a chump blu ray has become a very common thing in peoples households. Being able to log online with your player and do special things with the casts and stars of your favorite movies makes this a very cool feature for movie buffs. Although, is the price too high for average movie goers. The average price of a blu ray player is close to 300 dollars were as you can get a normal dvd player for under 100 easily. Also, the DVD's cost upwards to 30 to 35 dollars per movie. With the other average prive of only 20 dollars. I personally am willing to spend the extra dime to get the most out of my movie experience. But is everyone really ready to shell out the extra cash for and extra shiney copy of Wall E?

Fashion

Something i'll never understand is the world of fashion. People running around in furs made of animals ive never heard of or just looking outrageous. I'm not sure what gives these people the thought that it is fashionable to wear ridiculous things. I mean, wearing nice suits or dresses is one things but when the item of clothing can cost upwards to thousands of dollars. How much money do i really want to spend on something that im gonna wear on occasion. I just want to be able to buy a shirt and some jeans and wear them out for a couple months. 20 dollars is an easy buy. But instead i think ill buy thousand dollar clothing and go to the colts game. Sounds fun.

Guitars

The one thing that i wish i did with my life was learn to play guitar. Music has been around throughout human history telling storys and bringing people together. As a kid i wish i had done more of this, I mean i played violin for a year, but that was the extent of my music career. I always would have loved to learn to play the guitar. The magical power of making rocking music would be awesome to have. But, its one of those things that i wish i would have done. Being able to bring joy to people through music would be something swell id like to do

Electronic Cigarette

As a smoker, smoking can take a big chunk out of your wallet after time. Not only that but smoking itself isnt healthy so it already makes you feel bad. However, a new thing out called the electronic cigarette is looking to take my hard earned money and make me spend it on it. A guy bat the mall asked me to try one and told me that the cigarette heats up the nicotine in the butt and evaporates it into smoke. This process is healthier than smoking a normal cigarette. Not only that but you dont get any of the nasty additives. However, the one bad part about this is the hefty price of 120 dollars and the fact that it doesnt help you smoke. SO im not sure if they have me hooked yet.

Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2

This november the game to change the industry came out. This game came with high expectations and filled the gaming community with joy. Selling over 2.1 million copies in its first week alone this game is looking to be one of the highest selling games of all time. With new and improved gameplay mechanics and graphics this is a real bueaty. The real beauty comes from the envoirments with real lighting and smoke concepts making it the most realistic ware zone ever put on a gaming console. The games design is to make you feel like your always in danger, but the guy standing right next to you will always be their for brotherly support. Its just amazing to see how games can improve over a short period of time. Whether that being a year or two. The technology industry has come a long way from 8 bit graphics. Now showing real lighting and effects, how real do you think the games we play will get. How close to real life is it getting.

Sand Castles

When i was younger i would always love to build sand castles when i went to the beach. But lately this seems to be getting more and more popular with every beach season. People spend all day working on their masterpiece only for it to be washed away shortly after. But some of the designs for these castles are amazing. Ive always tried to incoporate different things with mine, but some people are just plain amazing. when designing a sand castle it takes time and precision. You must watch the water levels and try not to make certain things too big or too small or your foundation will crumble. It's not even about the castle its about the art and design of it. People putting their passion into building these giants for others to see and enjoy.

Cake Decorating

Something that has been popular among birthdays and parties for centuries is the delicious cake. Cakes can be made into all shapes and sizes. However, the design of some cakes it outrageous! do people really expect to eat something that looks like that? i know if i saw a cake like that i wouldnt touch it. It would be like ruining a piece of art. So when peple design cakes do you think they go for the best looking or something that everyone will enjoy with taste and flavor. Im not really sure what to expect from all of this. But cake decorating has been big for Weddings, Baby Showers, and other family events that everyone goes through.

Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality is this brilliant idea of taking what we already have in the real world and adding to it. APps on the Iphone can do things such as put characters or other things in the image of the screen, or by using the internet to identify things such as building or streets that you need to be at. The design of giving you the information as you look at it is brilliant. They even have games where you look on a board and the board practically comes to life. There are characters and other things on your phone that arent in real life. Hence the name Augmented Reality. This could be a very cool thing for designers giving them a sneak peek at what could really be possible.

Google

The big search giant google is only getting started. The big multi billion dollar corporation is slowly getting bigger and bigger. But, what got them all started? The search engine designed by college students made searching for what you want easier. They designed it so it would take the most relevant searches and put them in order. Not only that, but they are now ever starting to reccomend other thing that you may like depending on your search. This is what design is all about. The design to not only give you what you want, but also to make random guesses on what you may or may not be interested in as well.

Nature

Everyday we see things designed by humans and we wonder how people come up with these crazy ideas. But, what about mother natures design? the way the trees look and grow, or the way a flower blossums and grows. Things are taken from nature and put into our everyday life. Mother nature has the most beautiful design of all and that has reflected in the work that we as humans do. The color contrasts and the way things grow and move are perfectly designed. THis is all due to mother nature. The ultimate designer in this world isnt something that we can overcome. The true designer of the earth and everything in it is mother nature. From the animals, to the plants, to the rocks and the water. Simple, yet beautiful things come from nature and we take hints from this in order to make our lives better.

There's a Snake in my Boot

Pixar is one of the worlds top animating studios. They have done works on films such as Wall E, Up, The incredibles, and Toy story. With a running like that these animator giants have shown no signs of stopping. But with all of this fancy CGI going on where did it all originate? Early animators would use penicls and pens inorder to tell their story. However, that method is still used today the advance cgi methods of some companies have really taken computer graphics to the next level whereas handdrawn seems to stay the same. CGI is a vast improving segment of animation and is widely popular and accepted.

Through the Looking Glass

Philip Johnson Recently debuted his new house of glass. All of the exterior is made of glass and you can actually see into the house. However it goes underground for privacy. But the simply boxy look from the house gives it a small but homey feeling. everything in the house is normal as well. It's just the walls that are glass and make it a very cool house. Im not sure if i would want to live in a glass house, it might get annoying after a while. But you never know

Cartoons

Cartoons in the recent decades have changed gradually, but yet has stayed the same. The design of a normal cartoon is for it to make the audience feel relaxed and have a good time. With old cartoons such as popeye and Tom and Jerry, they use physical comedy to make the audeience feel at easy. physical comedy is what the cartoon industry has gunned for all these years. As it is a cartoon making things blow up or people recovery swiftly from injuries is as easy as drawing and earasing. These cartoons live out our fantasies of childhood dreams and far away lands but from the comfort of our own tv screen.

Coke!

Coca Cola has been one of the most prominent names in the pop selling business. Since its first recipe in the late 1800's the beverage has grown in popularity and its content. Sold in over 200 places around the world, globally Coca Cola is a commercial success. But, what it is about this drink that make people love it so much? is it the cool calm and refreshing taste of the beverage or is it the way they design the advertisements and reel you in while promises of laughs and good times with your friends and family. However, ONe design scheme didnt work to well with the introduction of New Coke in the late 1980's. This messed with the original formula and caused sales to plumit. However, it wouldn't be Coca Cola without a backup plan, a few years later they release Coca Cola Classic, which in a newly designed can was basically the same formula as the orgiginal coke. And with many spinoffs such as cheery, vanilla, and even coke with lime the popular brand will continue to strive forward.

Mines Bigger

Recently panasonic announced their biggest television yet! a 150 inch advanced high definition plasma. 150 inches.. Thats a lot. Thats 12 and a half feet. Has our country really come to who has the bigger tv? What could you possibly want to do with a big 12 foot television. When television was first released in the early decades of the 1900's they came in small low quality packages where people would sit around and watch the one to two channels that they recieved. Nowadays, people are just trying to one up each other with who has the most movie channels or in this case, whose tv is bigger. With hundreds of channels to watch and a plethera of movies and game contenet, maybe a big 12 foot tv would be fun. Would it somehow be more immersive and make you feel like your really playing the game or in the movie.

Snuggie

The snuggie. you know it and you love it. Instant comfort and relaxation when you slip this on. But what is the snuggie really? the answer is that the snuggie is actually just a blanket with arm holes. However, the simple design of this snuggie makes it the perfect design for wanting to stay warm and yet keep busy. The simply arm holes and sleeves keeps your whole body warm while you continue to work or do whatever you need to. Not like traditional blankets where you have to take your arms out and get cold. The snuggie elminates the fact that you have to come out from using a blanket. That simple design has made it easy for people to stay warm and work and has sold millions to prove it.

Youtube!

I love youtube. Its one of the best things to hit the internet since google. The fact that you can put videos of practically whatever you want online for others to see is amazing. The simple design of allowing people to view and share videos from others. It's really as simple as that. Being able to upload something that you worked on and sharing it with the online youtube community. When they designed youtube i imagine that they had one thing in mind. That was community. YOu are able to follow or subscribe to people and follow their videos and things that they work on. They want people to be involved and interact with one another. This helps people learn and grow with one another and can further better themselves.

Avatar

James Cameron new sci fi epic Avatar is due to hit theaters relativly soon. But is the glorified cgi fantasy really all that the hype is leading it up to be. There have been countless movies out there that have big bugets and huge stars but have ultimatly failed at being a good movie., However, Cameron promises big things from his next motion picture. This movie had a budget of roughly 500 Million Dollars. The CGI alone in this movie is a spectacle. But with all of this money being spent into production do you think that the story will really pan out as well as everyone hopes. Personally, from the trailer i believe that this movie is going to be a big load of crap. Apart from it looking amazing, the movie itself actually doesnt look that appealing. Giant Blue giraffe looking things arent that cool of a movie idea. But with all that money going into it something good must come from it right?

How many timres hvae you been in a hurry and coulnt find your cellphone? Not many of us college students have time too loose their only device for mobile communication. Like myself and many others we cant afford to pay for a house phone or another phone. The design of this website is genius. People Loose their cell phone on a daily basis and i can think of numerous times where it would just frusterate the heck out of me. Daemon Tools

Recently i came across a program called daemon tools that allows me to convert torrents into iso's and play all of the games i like to play for free. The design of it is simple. You take a simple bit torrent file and convert it to the iso format. I love it. Very easy and simple to do and it makes playing your games that much easier. Torrenting games and other programs have been around since the begining of the internet. Its almost like a challenege to some people to see if they can break into the code and mod it to how they'd like.

Tables!

The design of tables is simple. Four Legs and a flat surface. But who thought of this idea! Its a genius idea when you think about it. But someone thought that this would be a wonderful thing. They were right. The table has been an intricate part of everyones life since the existance of tables. What was the declaration of independence signed on? a table. Everything that the world revolves around have only come to part because of the table. Things just work.

Design. Everything we work and run on today has design. But, what makes design of things so appealing. Is it the color scheme or how it looks? What is it about some simple designs that appeal to the public and the human sense so well. The simply color designs such as little color changes. The swiliring texture of the picture above makes it so simple. Yet we are drawn to it and are curious about it. Everything in the world has some sort of design to it, but its a mystery to why it is so appealing to use. Maybe we live diversity or maybe we just like something shiney.

Flavor of Love!

The popular show Flavor of Love staring the one and only Flavor Flav shows the manly bachelor and his attempt to find love. The design of this show is simply terrible. Throw and bunch of raging fan girls into a house with their dream rapper and watch the chaos begin. The show is simply based around the fights. Without the fights i feel like no one would watch it if it werent for the crazy cat fights. Someone behind the camera had the bright idea of having a bunch of middle aged women fight over a washed up rapper.

Dog Wear

Dog Cloths! Who in their right mind would want to dress up their dog. However, believe or not the dog clothing industry is booming. People regulalry dress up their dog. With the holidays seasons right around the corner the cloths are going to go up in demand. Crazy middle aged women love to dress up their little poodles and other dogs. But, for what reason? i think its people need for companionship. Cause personally, i think dressing up your dog is freaking dumb. I mean, i know people love their dogs, but to go out of your way to get the dog a halloween costume or a cute holiday outfit. Someone had the genius idea of "Hey lets dress up our pets". That was the best idea that that person could have had.

Cool!

For some people, they revolve their live around cars. Now im not one to gripe but, sometimes its just plain cool. The design for this new lambo is looking sharp. The intricate design of these cars are getting cooler and cooler each year. With a more aerodynamic look. More horsepower under the hood and a boat load of features that could keep anyone content.However, with all of these features and design features can we afford it? i doubt you're going to see a family man driving this to his nice job everyday. The design of this car is just too costly for some. I know that people can afford this, but what about us average car goers? compared to this, some of the cars we drive seem kind of second rate.

Droid Does

With the cell phone market being more and more competive with each new phone Motorola has went the extra step to bring to Verizon a phone that could compete with the Iphone's success. Copying many of the ideas such as aps and other little things the Droid is looking to be a hit. Being able to browse the internet, download apps, get directions, or simply make calls. However, people just dont want to be able to text and make calls anymore. The high demand for features have turned cell phones into tiny computer Being able to process word docs and check the internet, the cell phone isnt as powerful as a computer, but i feel like in due time the design of the phone will essentially start to take over. Something small that can fit in your pocket and solve all your problems sounds really appealing. But,The droid does everything that the iphone can do and more. Having outrageous specs for a phone its almost like a little computer. With the growing trend and design in the indutry to have a touch screen and mutliple features, do you ever find yourself wanting less? When i bought my cell phone i was overloaded with all the features. I'm never going to use half of it. But, then its always nice to have.

New Moon.

It's crazy that movies such as this are making as much money as they are. The recently released movie called The Twilight Saga: New Moon has had an opening weekend of a 141 million dollars. Thats just the first couple days of course. With the budget roughly around 50 million dollars the movie has already paid for itself within the first three days. The movie itself opened up friday bringing in about 73 million dollars. This beating the old box office record holder, The Dark Knight. That was last years box office smash that comepletely decimated everything at the box office. But, has our taste in movies gone down? One of the previous holders was Titanic. James Camerons epic. Now with in todays world with Superhero's and heeart throb vampires it really shows what the community wants. The answer to that is simple. Sparkling vampires and abs. If we put sparkling vampires and abs in every movie, expect to get more than you wanted!

Social Networks

Every so often some new social network like myspace, facebook, twitter comes out and it all the rage. But, what really makes these so popular? is the the friendly interaction between peers? or the fact that you can creep on someone without them even known. The design of these social networks are fairly simple and easy to use. Easy as making an account with a valid email adress and the fun escapades of social networking are at your fingertips. Social networks such as forums have been up since the begining. When internet was readily available to the public people have been trying to find ways to comminucate with one another. Now with bigger and better options such as facebook, twitter, and myspace what will the people think of next. what kind of social interaction do you want with people you barely even know

Musical Road

How often do you find yourself fiddling with the radio while your driving? well.Due to todays newest technology you no longer have to worry about it. The musical road is now out and about. All you have to do is drive the car on the road and the music will play due to something on the road. Seems a bit ridiculous. However, this technology is new and present. Ways to listen to our music in our cars have gradually advanced. From our cassette players to CD's. Now we can even listen to our ipod in our car wirelessly. Now we dont need any of that. We simply have to drive.

The Can.

The can has been a brilliant design for many decades. But whats all the rage? i mean its easy to handle. simple to use, and most of all very convienent for those who wish to drink from it. But what brouht us to this modern day and age of cans? But in 1962 the design was brouht forth and put into the world. Ever isnce it has been a smash hit. I love drinking from cans.

Touch Screen.

Touch screens have begun to be all the rage with todays technology. From our phones to our computers touch screens have begun to take over. However, Microsoft recently developed a new way to use the touch screen. The Table. The Microsoft Surface is a touch screen table filled with a boat load of features. Would you rather have a table that you can interact on? or would you rather just have a table to do your business on. Do we wanna spend money on a table that we can play games on? im not to sure that its such a hot idea. Seems kinda lame. If i wanna google sometime ill walk 10 feet to a computer and google it. I don't need to be sitting on my kitchen table all day.

Digital Candy

What is Digital Candy? Well digital candy is the new and fun way to chew gum. Ever wonders what a computer mouse would taste like if it were made of gum? Well now you can with this digital candy gum. The design of this gum was specifically targeted for people who enjoy technology and the digital age. You can eat all sorts of your favorite digital gadgets such as Gameboys, CD’s, mice, keyboards, and cameras. Gum is a very prominent thing in our culture today. Over $3.5 Billion dollars in gum is sold every year. Now there is a design of technological gum for the kids who don’t leave their basements. I mean who doesn’t want to chew on their favorite video game? With the design of this gum it might also target kids who have been accustomed to today’s technology and have grown up with that in hand. Now they can start to grow up with it in their mouth! Everyone loves gum, and now we got ourselves some good ol’ digital candy gum.

Waiting In line

One of the things I hate most in life is waiting in line. Waiting to get food, waiting to get into a movie, waiting to get over an hour to ride a roller coaster for 2 minutes. The design of the long waiting line is efficient in a sense. It keeps people organized and in order so that things make be taken care have in a timely and efficient fashion. But, the thing I hate most about waiting in line is the actual waiting. Im waiting more time in the line than I am in actually completing the task that I was actually waiting in line for. Within the human psych people get anxiety and wanted to get things started. At the theme park Walt Disney world, they actually employ more than 75 industrial engineers to make sure that people are having fun while they wait in line. They do psychological studies of people in order to keep them happy in line

Digital Penguin

In the movie “Surfs Up” digital penguins are used to bring the story to life. CGI has been in advancement for many years and in this movie it has taken a stride forward by making these penguins very anthropomorphic. These lively penguins have become very life like and like humans. Giving these penguins feelings and emotions that people would have. That is the advancement of CGI. CGI has been in use by many of our top favorite filmmaking companies such as Pixar, DreamWorks, and Walt Disney. Now with the technology getting more and more advanced we are now able to map our own physical movements and project it onto the screen. This action of motion capturing is being used to make our top films in this day and age. In the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest actor Bill Nighy plays Davey Jones. However, Bill Nighy never actually appears in the movie, his voice and body languages were both placed in the movie with the use of motion capture. This gives the CGI created monster a more believable and human like performance given by the actor.

Cell phones.

I really hate my cell phone. I know touch screens are the way of the future or what not, but personally i think thats a load crap. I mean, seriously. Why would i want a phone in which the screen works when it wants to. I know your supposed to calibrate it and stuff, but its lame when you have to calibrate it every freaking time. I just want a phone made with all buttons that works. Not this stick as many things on the touch screen as possible. junk touch screens. I mean, i dont want to sound like a debbie downer or anything, but seriously its lame. We need to make a comeback for the buttons.

Snapple!

I found my new favorite drink. Snapple. It's all natural and good for the body and soul. It's naturally flavored Snapple Apple. The design of the bottle of course is what really caught my eye. The simplistic glass bottle design is brilliant. There is a small s embedded into the glass of the snapple bottle giving it a little bit of flavor. Personally, i enjoy this glass bottle design over most plastic bottles. I think the glass bottle should make a comeback. Always fun and clean to drink out of. Also, you can smash the bottle when you're done. Fun and entertainment all packed into one delicious beverage.

Going to the Movies

Whenever you walk throughout the movie theatre you catch different movie posters advertising the next big movie. However, some movies do this way better than others. The point of a movie poster is to catch your attention and draw you in to see the next movie. This poster uses a simple design of revealing the villain and showing the poor damsel in distress. However, due to how old is they use a more artsy approach to it. But, with todays technology poster have become much more epic and extravigent. They put big movie stars on the cover with big explosions and girls to draw the people in. Although as simple as that design sounds it's what gets the job done. who wouldnt want to see a movie with explosions, stars, and girls? Thats right, nobody. Oh, and Vampires?

Shoes.

I was recently employed at the local Journey's at Circle Center Mall. There I do my best to sell shoes. What boggles my mind is all of the different designs and variations of shoes. There are some very simple designs that looks very hip, new, and cool. However, somewhere down the road i think someone went a little overboard with the "hip". However, despite the way some of the shoes look in the store, they still sell like hot cakes. This shows that the designer really knows what kids want these days. Apparently, kids these days want crazy colored shoes. They actually kind of look like clown shoes. They wouldnt personally get my purchase, but its my duty to make sure the customer gets what he or she wants.

Blog 1. 9-9-09

During one of my first adventures into circle center mall i wandered into the food court and stumbled upon Currito Burrito. I was hungry, really hungry. I needed something to fill me up so I look into Currito Burrito. It looks like Chipotle and i wanted it to be Chipotle. It was kind of eerie the way it was set up. It was almost exactly like Chipotle. Although, they had some minor little changes the overall presentation of the food chain was an exact copy of Chipotle. But, did it taste like chipotle? I was on a mission to score one of these burritos and try it out for myself. So, i ordered what i usually order at chipotle. However, to my dismay it was a little more expensive. More than ten dollars with chips and a drink. I sit down to look upon this burrito and it looks and smells exactly like a chipotle burrito. When i dig in however; i soon learn that this is not chipotle. In the end, this might look, smell, even have the same menu items. But, this will never subsitute a good solid Chipotle Burrito. Their design in setup will trick you into thinking its Chipotle, but really its not. You've Been Warned.
